Plant Tulip ‘Fly Away’ in bold groups where its distinctive blooms will give the appearance of dancing flames. Orange petals, edged with gold, are carried on sturdy, upright stems from April to May. The eye-catching flowers make a fine cut flower for a vase indoors, where you can enjoy their soft fragrance too. Grow Tulip ‘Fly away’ in beds, borders and containers for a dramatic display, year after year. Height: 50cm (20"). Spread: 10cm (4").

Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn. Tulips will grow well in any moist, well drained soil, except for particularly wet soils. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting tulip bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant them at a depth of 15cm (6") and at a distance of 13cm (5") apart.
More Info After flowering, deadhead the faded tulip flowers and allow the foliage to die back completely before removing it in summer. Caution: Tulip bulbs are an irritant to skin and eyes, and are harmful if eaten.
