Thuja plicata 'Can-can' is a useful semi-dwarf tree with a much slower habit than many other varieties of Thuja plicata. This Western Red Cedar is a much more gardener friendly variety for hedging as growth slows greatly on reaching 2.5m (8') - the perfect height for a boundary hedge! This hardy evergreen conifer has dark green foliage that provides good texture, colour and structure in the garden, all year round. Perfect for hedging, or grown as a compact specimen tree in smaller gardens. Height: 2.5m (8'). Spread: 1.5m (5').

Plant Thuja into any well-drained soil in full sun. The soil can be acid, alkaline or neutral. Protect plants from cold, drying winds, especially when younger.
