Flowering Months

Clusters of bright white, heart-shaped flowers drip from short stems, above ferny, blue-green foliage. Unlike other varieties, Dicentra ‘Amore Titanium’ has good heat resistance. This means it delivers a surprisingly long season of flowering, commencing in May and repeating through to October. In contrast to some of the older, ground-covering varieties, the flowers are also a clean, pure colour. Use Dicentra ‘Amore Titanium’ to light up shady borders, drifting as ground cover through other plants and shrubs or softening the edges of borders. Height and spread: 45cm (18in).

How to Grow

Grow dicentra plants in well drained, reliably moist, fertile ground in partial or dappled-shade. Dicentra prefers a humus-rich, neutral or alkaline soil. Improve soil conditions by adding plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost prior to planting.

Water regularly until fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of chipped bark or well-rotted garden compost to the base of the plant. Dicentras have particularly fragile roots and are best left undisturbed if possible. However, overcrowded clumps may be divided in late autumn or early spring if necessary. Caution: Irritant to skin and eyes. Harmful if eaten.
