Description

The vivid blue flower spikes of Veronica spicata or spike speedwell are unmistakable and some of the purest blue you will find in the garden. Veronica spicata 'Ulster Blue Dwarf' is a compact variety that is ideal for the front of the border or containers. Above deep green, lance-shaped leaves, a myriad deep blue flowers crowd the upright stems to form perfect spires tipped with lime green, creating an eye-catching display all summer that is a magnet for pollinators. An easy and reliable hardy perennial, Veronica spicata has a place in every garden. Height and spread: 30cm (12in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
When planting Veronica, choose a sunny or semi-shaded position in moist, fertile, well drained soil. Veronica prefers a fertile, humus rich soil so work some well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting.
More Info
Deadhead faded Veronica flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, cut back old foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant.
