Description

This petite version of the ever-popular Stransvaesia offers a big splash of spring colour and all-year-round foliage interest to smaller spaces.

Photinia x fraseri 'Little Fenna' is a dwarf, evergreen shrub that makes a surprisingly big statement in spring when the young shoots and leaves emerge a brilliant pink against the older, dark green leaves. In April/May, clusters of creamy-white foliage appear whilst the foliage matures to deep green over the summer. This dense and bushy shrub is perfectly sized for patio pots, terraces and balconies, providing a bright start to the spring season and a lush green backdrop for later summer bedding. It also makes a useful feature shrub or low hedge for smaller garden borders. Height and Spread: 90cm - 1.5m (3-4.9ft).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Photinia plants in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any moderately fertile, moist, well drained soil. In frost prone areas, plant Photinia next to a warm wall or in the shelter of other shrubs. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Photinia shrubs at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil.
More Info
Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Once established, Photinia requires only occasional attention, removing any damaged stems and lightly trimming those that spoil the shape of the plant in summer after flowering. If grown in a container, ensure that plants are routinely watered and fed.
