Description

Smother your patio in the colours of the Mediterranean with Geranium peltatum ‘Trio’. These fabulous tender pelargoniums are perfect for creating a big splash of vivid colour. The flowers are beautifully offset by glossy, ivy-shaped leaves, which are an attractive feature in themselves. The deep green foliage is born on trailing stems with the flowers sitting perfectly just above the foliage. Plants can be allowed to trail from containers and baskets, scramble over frameworks or be trained into a pyramid. Low maintenance, vigorous and incredibly long flowering, Geranium peltatum ‘Trio’ promises non-stop colour from late spring until autumn. These eye-catching specimens will instantly add a touch of Mediterranean flair to your patio or balcony! Height and spread: 50-80cm (20-31in).

Geranium peltatum ‘Trio’ contains the following varieties:

  • Geranium peltatum ‘Red’
  • Geranium peltatum ‘Pink’
  • Geranium peltatum ‘White’

Although technically perennial, pelargoniums are only half-hardy and therefore normally treated as annuals in the UK. However, they can also be overwintered in a frost-free greenhouse or conservatory.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise geraniums to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days before transplanting them into their final positions in containers, beds and borders. Plant geraniums in a sunny or semi-shaded position, in any light, non-acidic, well drained soil. Pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage branching and form a bushier plant which will produce more flowers later on.
More Info
Feed and water geranium plants regularly, particularly during hot, dry periods. Regular deadheading of geranium flowers will encourage further blooms to be produced throughout the summer.
