Description

An ideal choice for shadier rooms, north or east facing windowsills or bathrooms, this tough fern is an undemanding houseplant. Asplenium nidus bears bright green, sword-like fronds with prominent black midribs. Fresh young fronds are continually produced from the basal rosette, replacing older leaves. Its clean outlines are elegantly simple, and it also has the benefit of being a good air purifier. Maximum height: 1.5m (60in). Spread: 1m (40in).

How to Grow
Grow in bright, indirect light, avoiding strong, direct, sunlight. Maintain the temperature above 13°C. Provide high humidity by regular misting. Water regularly between spring and autumn when the first couple of centimetres of compost have dried out, feeding during the growing season with a balanced houseplant feed. Reduce watering in the winter and avoid draughts.
