Description
A unique Acer with year-round appeal. Even in the winter, Acer ‘Red Flamingo’ excites interest with its bright red stems which mature into branches snaked with white striations. The young leaves emerge with pink-flushed variation which develops into green, pink and cream marbling. This slow-growing Acer can be grown as a multi-stemmed shrub or a small tree and makes a handsome containerised specimen. Eventual height and spread after 10-20 years: 4m x 6m (13ft x 20 ft).

How to Grow
Grow Acers in any moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade. It's important to give plants shelter from strong winds which can scorch the leaves.
More Info
Water regularly throughout the growing season until acer trees are well established. Protect plants from strong winds. Acers require little pruning other than to maintain their shape. Lightly trim stems if necessary from late autumn to midwinter.
