Description

Primrose ‘Buttercream’ boasts extra-large, soft yellow flowers complemented by dark green foliage.

These cheerful primroses are perfect for weaving through borders and along path edges, interplanted with spring bulbs. Their bold leaves provide excellent ground cover, inhibiting germinating weeds as the weather warms and giving way to swathes of colour through the earliest months for minimal effort. Alternatively, dot them amongst mixed containers to brighten areas around the house just when it is most needed. Height and spread: 20cm (8in).

How to Grow
Pot up plug plants and grow them on in bright, frost-free conditions, watering sparingly until they are fully rooted in. When they are well grown, acclimatise primrose plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days, prior to planting out in their final positions in beds, borders and containers. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade on any fertile, moist, well drained soil.
More Info
During the winter, avoid over-watering container grown plants as this may cause the plants to rot in cold conditions. Deadhead faded primrose flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Divide over-crowded clumps of primroses from late autumn to early spring.
