- Phlox paniculata 'Laura' produces fragrant clusters of delicate, purple petals throughout the summer and early autumn. - Phlox paniculata 'Nicky' is one of the darkest varieties of fragrant Phlox available, and shows good resistance to mildew too. The blooms persist for weeks, attracting pollinating insects to the garden, although it’s well worth cutting a few stems for a vase indoors! This clump forming, hardy perennial makes dramatic addition to cottage garden borders. Plant it in large groups for maximum impact! Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 60cm (24").
- Phlox paniculata 'Orange Perfection' produces a blaze of large, salmon-orange flower heads with a rich, sweet perfume throughout summer. With a clump forming habit, Phlox paniculata 'Orange Perfection' is at its best when planted in groups to create a bold splash of colour towards the middle of borders. Grow phlox plants in any fertile, moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi-shade. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting.
Feed and water regularly, particularly during dry periods, until young phlox plants are fully established. After flowering, lightly shear the stems to encourage lots of fresh new growth.
