Description

With its unique tricolour combination of lime green, white and purple, this tropical parrot is destined to rule the roost! Each bloom of Petunia 'Amazonas Plum Cockatoo' is detailed with intricate purple veining that is beautifully picked out against the chartreuse background. Ruffled margins add a final flourish to the design. Petunia 'Amazonas Plum Cockatoo' flowers early and long, and although its blooms look as light as a feather, they boast exceptional weather-resistance, bouncing back quickly after a rain storm. This rare bird makes a unique addition to hanging baskets and containers, injecting tropical pizzazz into patio displays. Height: 30 - 35cm (12-14in). Spread: 35cm to 40cm (14-16in).

How to Grow
Pot up petunia plants and grow them on in warm frost-free conditions for transplanting later on. Pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage branching and form a bushier plant which will produce more flowers later on. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before transplanting them outdoors into baskets, window boxes and containers in well drained soil, in full sun.
More Info
Feed and water petunia plants regularly, particularly during hot, dry periods. Regular deadheading of petunia flowers will encourage further blooms to be produced throughout the summer.
