Description

Peony Most Scented Dinner Plate Trio features three large-flowered, double peonies offering a wonderfully sweet perfume. Deeply lobed, dark green leaves form a verdant backdrop that highlights the exquisite beauty of the flowers.

Herbaceous Peonies will last a lifetime in your garden, giving late spring displays of show-stopping, ruffled blooms each year for the minimum of effort. Plant them into the middle of herbaceous borders, where they will add structure, glamour and rich colour. They also make fabulous cut flowers.

Peony Most Scented Dinner Plate Trio contains the following varieties:

  • Peony ‘Alexander Fleming’ - Bury your nose in lavish swirls of rich pink petals and inhale the sweet fragrance of Peony ‘Alexander Fleming’. An early to mid-season herbaceous variety with fully double flowers that can reach up to 20cm in diameter. Height and spread: 90cm (35in).
  • Peony 'Angel Cheeks' - Large pale pink outer petals cup a raised mound of ruffled pink inner petals with cream blushes. What’s more - the large blooms also have a sweet fragrance! A mid-season variety flowering in early-mid June on a relatively short plant that requires little staking. Height: 90cm (35in). Spread: 50cm (20in).
  • Peony 'Mother's Choice' - Very double, creamy white petals swirl into a shallow dome creating a flawless bloom measuring up to 20cm wide. Peony ‘Mother's Choice’ is a very popular mid-late season variety with large flowers that boast a sweet fragrance. Its particularly strong stems make it one of the best for cutting. Height: 90cm (35in). Spread: 50cm (20in).

How to Grow
Grow peonies in a sunny or semi shaded position. They prefer a well drained, rich fertile soil. This is best achieved by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or compost to the soil prior to planting, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Plant herbaceous peonies at a depth of around 5cm (2") below the soil surface. Planting too deeply may delay flowering.
More Info
Water regularly until peony plants are fully established. Thereafter, herbaceous peonies require little maintenance and will grow happily for many years if left undisturbed. However, they will appreciate a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost applied around the base of the plant in spring. Plants may take several years to establish before they produce their spectacular peony flowers.
