Also known as the 'Rose de Roscoff’ onion, Onion ‘Keravel Pink’ is an onion with distinction and a fascinating history. This beautiful rosy onion with pinkish flesh is associated with the French onion sellers known affectionately as ‘Onion Johnnies’. These Breton farmers travelled on bicycles selling their distinctive pink onions door to door across Great Britain. ‘Keravel’ onions are now almost impossible to find but highly prized by cooks for their uniquely sweet and mild flavour. Don a Breton shirt and a string of your home-grown ‘Keravel’ onions and embrace the Gallic spirit! Height: 45cm (18"). Spread: 15cm (6").Culinary Herb note: Some parts of these plants are edible and can be used as herbs to add flavour and colour to your meals. For more details about edible flowers click here.
Companion planting: Try growing onions with mint to confuse and deter onion fly.
