A compact, evergreen shrub that offers multicoloured interest throughout the year.

Nandina 'Summer Sunset' has an upright habit, with sprays of fine, pointed foliage that lend it an airy appearance. New leaves emerge dark red in spring, and transition to glowing shades of orange/red/purple before maturing to green. This evergreen shrub holds onto its previous growth, so the leaves display various colour stages at any one time, contrasting beautifully with the older green foliage below. In summer, long stems bear delicate clusters of white flowers.

This hardy, semi-evergreen shrub has a long season of interest, is drought tolerant once established and requires little maintenance. A worthy addition to borders and patio containers. Height and spread: 1.5m (4.9ft).
