How to Grow
Towering spires of fully double blooms make a sensational display, rising up to 180cm (6')! These hardy perennials are guaranteed to bring the wow facter to your garden - they make phenomenal cut flowers for summer bouquets too. Hollyhock 'Chater's Yellow' creates a magnificent display, bringing height and structure to the back of cottage garden borders. Height: 180cm (71"). Spread: 60cm (24").
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Gradually acclimatise Hollyhocks to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days and transplant into sunny borders. Grow hollyhocks in a sheltered position away from strong winds. Plant in full sun, on fertile, well drained soil.
More Info Feed and water regularly until hollyhocks are fully established. Support their tall stems with bamboo canes as the flower spikes develop. In autumn, cut back the old foliage and faded hollyhock flower stems, and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant.
