Description

A diverse selection of daylilies in an exciting spectrum of colours with bloom times that will deliver effortless colour from early summer to autumn. Hemerocallis Re-Blooming Collection includes the early flowering petite ‘Mini Stella’ that is perfect for small gardens and pots, alongside two larger, later flowering varieties that are ideal for borders.

The Greek word ‘Hemerocallis’ translates as ‘Beautiful for a Day’, but this hardworking perennial is beautiful from June to September! Although individual flowers last a day each, new buds are produced all summer long, with hundreds of buds produced over a single season. Long, bright green, strap-like leaves are semi-evergreen and provide useful foliage texture, colour and groundcover throughout the season. Hemerocallis are hardworking, practically bulletproof plants, thriving in most soils, including heavy clays, providing they are given some sun. Height and spread: 60-70cm (24-27in).

Hemerocallis Re-Blooming Collection includes the following varieties:

  • Hemerocallis ‘Dress Code’ - Large, fragrant, salmon-pink trumpets with glowing yellow throats. June-September. Height and spread: 60-75cm (24-30in).
  • Hemerocallis ‘Mini Stella’ - A miniature version of Hemerocallis ‘Stella D’Oro’, ideal for smaller gardens, rock gardens and container planting. Masses of small, yellow, trumpet-shaped flowers with chartreuse throats in early summer, reblooming again in midsummer. Height: 30-50cm (30-20in). Spread: 50cm (20in).
  • Hemerocallis ‘Peach Pudding’ - Large, fragrant trumpets in an unusual combination of pale peach with dark maroon blotches and yellow-green throats. June-September. Height and spread: 60-70cm (24-27in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Plant dayliles in moist, well drained, fertile soil in full sun. Growing hemerocallis plants in dry soils or shaded conditions may reduce the number of flowers produced.
More Info
For the best performance keep day lily plants well watered whilst they are in flower and deadhead faded daylily flowers regularly. In autumn remove any old, ragged foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost around the base of daylily plants.
