Description

A heritage variety with classic looks and that quintessential spicy scent. Dianthus ‘Russian Skies’ forms mounds of evergreen, grey-green foliage covered with single, purple-pink flowers etched with darker veining from summer to autumn. This free-flowering variety is perfect for border edges, pathways or containers, filling the garden with scent and colour. The abundant flowers make superb cut flowers for fragrant summer bouquets and vase displays. Height and spread: 25cm (10in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Pot up dianthus plants into pots of free-draining compost, and grow dianthus on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant dianthus outdoors in moist, well drained soil that has been enriched with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost. Choose a position in full sun.
More Info
Feed and water regularly until dianthus plants are fully established. Deadhead faded dianthus flowers frequently to encourage more blooms to be produced.
