Description
No cottage garden border is complete without the towering blooms of this hardy perennial! Delphinium ‘Pacific Hybrids’, sometimes referred to as ‘Pacific Giants’, were developed in the 1950’s and 60’s. Their majestic flower spikes rise above the palmate foliage in June and July, bringing drama and structure to borders. These statuesque plants are easy to grow, enjoying a sheltered, sunny spot. The blooms also make fabulous cut flowers for show-stopping bouquets. Height: 150cm (60”). Spread: 75cm (30”).

How to Grow
Pot up delphinium plants using free-draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. Once they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting them outdoors. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds, on moist, well drained soil. Protect young delphiniums from slugs and snails.
More Info
Feed and water delphinium plants until they are fully established. The tall stems of delphinium flowers will require staking with stout canes. Canes should be put in place by mid spring to ensure that the plants are adequately supported throughout the growing season. Cut spikes of faded delphinium flowers back to a flowering sideshoot to encourage a second flush of blooms to be produced. In autumn, cut the old foliage back to ground level. Caution: Contact with delphinium foliage may irritate the skin and eyes. All parts are harmful if eaten.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
