The stately flowering stems of Delphinium 'King Arthur' are bound to make a big impact on any planting scheme. Growing to an impressive height, the strong, upright stems are each topped with a densely-packed spire of vivid deep blue semi-double flowers for that big colour hit. A frosty white centre in each flower makes an eye-catching detail to admire close up. Perfect for group planting at the back of the border where they’ll help to screen a fence or wall as well as padding out the planting scheme with colour interest at a height. While tall, they’re narrow so don’t take up much space, making them suitable for small spaces as well as big borders. Height: 1.7m (6’). Spread: 75cm (30”).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Feed and water delphinium plants until they are fully established. The tall stems of delphinium flowers will require staking with stout canes. Canes should be put in place by mid spring to ensure that the plants are adequately supported throughout the growing season. Cut spikes of faded delphinium flowers back to a flowering side-shoot to encourage a second flush of blooms to be produced. In autumn, cut the old foliage back to ground level. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
