Description

For that cottage garden look, these magnificent dark blue delphiniums are invaluable. Tall enough to create vertical structure, but more manageable than the very tall varieties, Delphinium 'Dark Blue & White Bee' is suitable for the middle of smaller garden borders and less sheltered sites, without demanding heavy staking. The flowers are densely packed on thick flower spikes and their rich blue colouring with a contrasting white eye is simply breathtaking. With so many garden flowers covering the magenta to pink range, this is a stand-out colour that never fails to create impact in borders. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 30cm (12").

How to Grow
Pot up delphinium plants using free-draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. Once they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting them outdoors. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds, on moist, well drained soil. Protect young delphiniums from slugs and snails.
More Info
Feed and water delphinium plants until they are fully established. Deadhead faded delphinium flowers to encourage a second flush to be produced. Caution: All parts of delphinium are harmful if eaten and contact with the foliage may irritate the skin and eyes

For more information on how we send your plants please visit our Helpful Guide on plant sizes.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
