Description

Coleus are flamboyant foliage plants which come in a range of fantastic colours and make sensational statement plants in patio pots, beds and borders. They can even be used as house or conservatory plants. These tender, tropical perennials are generally grown as annuals. They are fast-growing and their velvety foliage in reds, purples, greens and yellows with intricate patterning and serrated margins provide colour and texture throughout the season. Coleus are incredibly versatile, easy to grow, low maintenance and can even thrive in shade. Although flowers are produced, these are insignificant and best removed.

Coleus Mix includes a wide colour range of these vivid plants, which have been selected for their compact, multi-branching habit and weather resistant foliage. Height and spread: 45cm (18").

How to Grow
Pot up Coleus plug plants and grow them on in warm frost-free conditions for transplanting later on. Pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage branching and form a bushier plant. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise painted nettle plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before transplanting them outdoors into beds, borders and containers. Plant Coleus plants in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in a sunny or semi-shaded position. Solenostemon can also be grown as houseplants, situated on a warm, bright window sill or in a conservatory or heated greenhouse.
More Info
Feed and water Coleus plants regularly, particularly during hot, dry periods. Remove any developing flower spikes as they will weaken the plant and cause poor quality foliage. Coleus houseplants should be given full light and a warm position in the winter months. Reduce watering and keep the compost just moist to prevent rotting and fungal diseases developing. Pinch back Solenostemon plants in the spring as growth resumes.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
