Description
Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Gitte' is a compact evergreen member of the Hinoki cypress family. It is a coniferous shrub with stems that are twisted which makes for a dense display of scale-like yellow and green foliage. It will not need much attention once planted so it is easy to care for. Light pruning may be needed if forming into a hedge or a particular shape. They are wonderful additions to rock gardens too. Height 50cm (20”) and spread 100cm (39”).

How to Grow
Grow Cypress trees in moist, well drained soil. Chamaecyparis prefers a neutral or acid soil but does tolerate chalky soils well. Choose a position in full sun.
More Info
Once established, Cypress trees require virtually no maintenance. When grown as a hedge, prune Chamaecyparis at any time between late spring and early autumn, taking care not to prune into older wood.
