Description

This rare dwarf lady fern from Far East is a collector’s gem. Athyrium minimum is a deciduous fern with extremely finely divided fronds held on red stems (or rachises). The intricate, lacy fronds droop down gracefully from small, neat clumps. A gorgeous little specimen for a fern collection or feathering the edge of a woodland border in reliably moist shade. Height and spread: 15cm (6in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Plant Athyrium in partial shade in fertile, moist, acid or neutral, soil. Athyrium ferns prefer a soil that is rich in organic matter so add some well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting.
More Info
Feed and water ferns regularly until they are fully established. Leave old fronds on over winter to protect the crown. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost around each plant in spring.
