Description

Argyranthemum ‘Rose Red’ forms compact, bushy domes of healthy, finely-cut foliage which are absolutely smothered in daisy-like blooms from June to October. Each bloom is heavily stippled with rose-pink against an off-white ground, the colour softly blending into a creamy yellow centre surrounding a dark gold button. The unique colour combination creates a palette of subtly shifting but harmonising shades. This rewarding Argyranthemum is best grown as an annual bedder in containers, borders, baskets and window boxes. It makes a fabulous subject for sunny patio pots, pumping out hundreds of cheerful daisies all summer long, attracting plenty of bees and butterflies and surviving periods of drought. Height and Spread: 30-40cm (12-16in).

How to Grow
Pot up plugs and grow them on in warn, frost free conditions. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise argyranthemum plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Plant them out in well drained soil in sunny borders. Alternatively, grow Argyranthemum in patio containers using good quality compost such as John Innes No. 2.
More Info
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded Argyranthemum flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, move container-grown plants to a bright frost free position and reduce watering. In spring, prune back stems to within an inch of the previous year’s growth. Border grown plants are unlikely to survive the winter outside in all but the mildest areas.
