Wildflower Seedball Tube Poppy Mix (NEWTUBE-POP)
Scatter on top of soil or compost in a garden bed or pot and water (no digging or gardening experience needed!) and nature will do the rest. As a guide at least twenty seed balls per square meter is recommended for a garden, or 3 - 5 seed balls for a small to medium sized pot. Best scattered in the Spring or Autumn.
Wildflowers are naturally slow to grow and the balls can take 2-4 weeks to begin to sprout. Some will flower in the first year and others may not flower until the second year, but the display should keep improving each year. The more they are initially watered, the quicker they will be to start to grow, although these will be ok to leave them to the rain to water them as well.
The balls are made from a mixture of UK wildflower seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chilli powder. The outer clay protects means that the seeds are inaccessible to ants & birds, and once sufficient water has permeated the clay, the seeds inside begin to germinate - helped along by the nutrients and minerals contained within the ball. The chilli powder continues to deter slugs and snails while the seed ball slowly degrades and the seeds sprout.
All cardboard packaging (including the Seedball packs) is made from 100% recycled card and vegetable inks and can be safely composted.
