Vine weevils are notorious pests that can wreak havoc on a wide range of ornamental plants and fruits, especially those cultivated in containers. While adult vine weevils feed on leaves, their larvae consume roots, posing a significant threat to plant health.
Our Vine Weevil nematodes provide a natural solution to thwart these pests from destroying your plant roots. Nematodes, microscopic worms, thrive by feeding and multiplying inside the larval stage. They actively seek out and eliminate Vine Weevil larvae, curbing infestations effectively.
For optimal results, apply Vine Weevil nematodes when the larvae are active, typically in late spring and early autumn. The first application should be made to pots and open ground between March and May, with a follow-up application recommended from August to October. These timings coincide with the presence of vine weevil larvae and soil temperatures above 12ºC.
If applied undercover, the pest's life cycle is disrupted, allowing for Vine Weevil Killer application at any time, provided the soil remains above 12ºC. Apply directly to the soil around the roots, targeting the larvae's feeding zones.
Our nematodes come with comprehensive instructions and can be conveniently applied using a watering can or nematode applicator. Simply apply to moist soil when the temperature exceeds 12ºC for efficient pest control.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
