Vine weevils are pests known for feeding on a wide variety of ornamental plants and fruits, particularly those cultivated in containers. While adult vine weevils consume leaves, their larvae feed on roots, posing a significant threat to plant health.
Our Vine Weevil nematodes provide a natural solution to halt these pests from damaging your plant roots. Nematodes, microscopic worms, feed and multiply inside the larvae, actively seeking out and eliminating Vine Weevil larvae.
For optimal efficacy, apply when the larvae are active, typically in late spring and early autumn. The first application should be made to pots and open ground between March and May, with a subsequent application recommended from August to October. These timings coincide with the presence of vine weevil larvae and soil temperatures above 12ºC.
When applying undercover, our Vine Weevil Killer can be used at any time, provided the soil temperature remains above 12ºC. Apply directly to the soil around the roots, targeting the larvae's feeding areas.
Our nematodes come complete with instructions and can be conveniently applied using a watering can or nematode applicator. Simply apply to moist soil when the temperature exceeds 12ºC for effective pest control.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
