Description

You’ll be tickled pink by this gorgeous collection of pink tulips. This varied selection includes large-flowered Darwin hybrids, a sumptuous multi-flowering peony type, and a dainty, single-fringed variety – offering a palette of pinks in an array of shapes and forms that showcase the very best that tulips offer.

Tulip ‘Pretty in Pink Collection’ comprises the following varieties:

  • Tulip ‘Angelique’ - Peony-type bearing two or three blooms on each stem. Creamy green buds opening into soft shades of blush pink. Flowers late April to early May. Height: 50cm (20in). Spread: 20cm (8in).
  • Tulip ‘Bella Blush’ – Strong Darwin hybrid with large and shapely candy-pink blooms adorned with a peachy-pink stripe to the centre of each petal. Flowers early April. Height: 45cm (18in). Spread: 15cm (6in).
  • Tulip ‘Pink Fountain’ – Dainty, single pink blooms frosted with a pure white fringe. Flowering April to May. Height: 60cm (24in). Spread: 20cm (8in).
  • Tulip ‘Pink Giant’ - Flamingo pink blooms with a classic goblet shape rise upwards on sturdy stems in mid-spring. Flowering April to May. Height: 50cm (20in). Spread: 20cm (8in).

How to Grow
Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn. Tulips will grow well in any moist, well drained soil, except for particularly wet soils. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting tulip bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant them at a depth of 15cm (6") and at a distance of 13cm (5") apart.
More Info
After flowering, deadhead the faded tulip flowers and allow the foliage to die back completely before removing it in summer. Caution: Tulip bulbs are an irritant to skin and eyes, and are harmful if eaten.
