Delivery
The culmination of years of meticulous breeding, ‘Amethyst’ sets a new standard for Stokesia, with intense colouring and a much improved habit.
This remarkable new variety boasts sturdy stems that defy flopping, along with an impressive abundance of large, intensely purple flowers. Complementing these stunning blooms are dense mounds of evergreen foliage which maintain a compact, upright form throughout the season. Once established, Stokesia ‘Amethyst’ is resilient to drought, thriving in dry, gravel gardens and Mediterranean-style schemes as well as making a well-behaved container perennial. Height and spread: 50cm (20in).

Plant Stokesia in well-drained soil in full sun. Stokesia prefers an acid soil. Where soil pH is more alkaline, grow Stokesia in containers using an ericaceous compost. Avoid wet soils which may cause Stoke’s Asters to rot.
More Info Feed and water Stokesia regularly while establishing. The stems benefit from staking to prevent them flopping over when in full flower. Deadhead regularly to encourage more blooms.
