Description

A floribunda type, Rose ‘Friesia’ bears abundant clusters of small, bright yellow roses, each cluster holding many flowers to create a mass of colour over a long season, from June to October. Unusually for a floribunda, the brilliant yellow blooms of Rose ‘Friesia’ offer a strong, spicy fragrance.

Forming a stiff, upright bush that is hardy, robust, disease resistant and easy to grow, Rose ‘Friesia’ makes an excellent choice for mixed borders or patio containers. Height: 80-100cm (31-39in). Spread: 60cm (24in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Plant roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.
More Info
Feed and water rose plants regularly and deadhead faded flowers. When growing roses it is necessary to remove any suckers that arise from the base of the plant, below the graft union. In winter, begin pruning floribunda roses by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged branches. Then reduce the stems to 20cm (10”) above ground level. Side shoots should be reduced to two buds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant after pruning.
