Description

Enjoy fresh raspberries from late June all the way through to mid October with these British-Bred, superbly flavoured, heavy cropping varieties. Height: 150cm (59”). Spread: 50cm (20”).

Duo comprises:
Raspberry 'Glen Ample' (Summer fruiting) - RHS AGM winner. An exceptional, high-yielding, mid season variety that produces a heavy crop between late June and late July. Just five of the large, deep red, berries can weigh as much as 30gm (1oz)! The tasty fruit holds well without spoiling and the spine free canes make easy picking. The large, succulent berries are excellent eaten fresh or from frozen.
Raspberry 'Autumn Bliss' (Autumn fruiting) - One of the best and most reliable autumn fruiting varieties, producing a heavy crop of large, attractive red berries from late August until mid October. The delicious fruits have an excellent flavour and firm texture making them ideal for eating fresh from the plant or freezing for another day. The  sturdy canes of Raspberry ‘Autumn Bliss’ makes them perfect for growing in smaller gardens and containers as they don’t require supports for their stems. An excellent British bred variety, with good resistance to raspberry root rot disease. Height: 150cm (59”). Spread: 50cm (20”).

Estimated time to cropping once planted: 4-8 months.
Estimated time to best yields: 16-20 months.

All of our Raspberries have been inspected by the Ministry of Agriculture for pests and diseases and certified. The bare root plants are hand graded and carefully selected before packing.

Your young raspberry plant will love like a long 'cane' or bare rooted stick when it arrives, but once planted will quickly establish and soon show lush growth.

How to Grow
Grow raspberry plants in a sunny position in any well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. The stems of summer fruiting raspberries will require support. Before planting, prepare a framework of wires stretched horizontally between two sturdy 1.8m (6') posts. Autumn fruiting varieties will not require supports.Plant raspberry canes in a row against the wire supports, allowing a distance of 60cm (24") between plants. Water well. Canes should be pruned to 15cm (6") above ground level immediately after planting to encourage more shoots to be produced.
More Info

Water well for the first year until plants are fully established. Loosely tie the stems of summer fruiting raspberries in to their support wires as they grow. When berries begin to develop, place a net over the plants to protect the crop from birds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the canes in spring. This will help to retain moisture throughout the summer.

Summer fruiting: In autumn, prune the canes which have fruited over summer to ground level. Canes which have not fruited should be 'tied in' to their supports. Aim to have 6 to 8 fruiting canes per plant.

Autumn fruiting: Prune all raspberry canes to ground level each February.
