Description
These evergreen shrubs with vibrant berries and dark oval shaped foliage are praised for their reduced thorns compared to other pryacanthas making them much more garden friendly. While a common use for them is as an impenetrable hedge, they're also it lovely grown against a robust wall or fence. Loved by the birds for its dense clusters of fruits but please note these fruits should not be eaten and can cause stomach upset. Height and spread 3m (10’).

How to Grow
Grow Pyracantha plants as free-standing shrubs train as a hedge, or grow against a wall or fence. Plant Firethorn into any well drained, reliably moist soil in sun or semi shade. Choose a position with shelter from cold, drying winds.
More Info
Feed and water Pyracantha plants regularly until full established. Prune free-standing shrubs in early spring, removing damaged and poorly positioned shoots. For wall trained shrubs, tie in main shoots to form part of the permanent framework, and cut back

Caution: harmful if eaten
