Also known as a pomegranate, Punica granatum is a beautiful Mediterranean shrub which is well worth growing for its unusual flowers and handsome foliage even if it fails to produce edible fruit in our mild British summers. The bright scarlet, funnel-shaped buds open to reveal papery petals which unfold into orange blooms. Height: 2.5m (8 feet). Spread: 2.5m (8 feet).

1 Packet (4 Seeds) (32485)
Sow in spring in trays of moist seed compost and lightly cover with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite or compost to a maximum depth of 3mm (1/8in). Place in a propagator or seal inside a polythene bag until germination occurs. Put in a warm place at a constant temperature of 13-18C (55-64F). Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged.
When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3 inch) pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
