Flowering Months

Large, showy panicles of mauve-blue flowers create a magnificent display in summer borders. From July to September the fragrant blooms fill the air with a rich perfume, attracting butterflies and pollinating insects. This clump forming hardy perennial Phlox is ideal for the front of borders, blending particularly well into cottage garden planting schemes. Phlox paniculata 'Blue Boy' also makes a fine cut flower for summer bouquets. Height: 80cm (31"). Spread: 60cm (24").

How to Grow

Grow phlox plants in any fertile, moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi-shade. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting.

Feed and water regularly, particularly during dry periods, until young phlox plants are fully established. After flowering, lightly shear the stems to encourage lots of fresh new growth.
