Description

To grow as pea shoots is quick and tasty! Great for garnishing dishes or adding to salads and sandwiches to add the crunch and freshness of home grown peas. As well as being packed full of flavour, these shoots are high in nutrients to give you a daily vitamin boost. Sowing to cropping in 3 weeks! Crop when plant height is 10-15cm.

Alternatively, grow to full size! Pea 'Style' is a high-yielding English Pea producing up to 11 flavoursome bright green peas per pod. Good resistance to mildew prolongs the harvest season, while a semi-leafless habit gives a higher pod-to-leaf ratio and makes spotting and picking the pods a doddle. Height: 60cm (18-24"). Spread: 25cm (10").

Sowing
If sowing for pea shoots, choose a seed tray or empty food container (having made holes in the base). Pour in some seed compost and level to around half tray depth. Water and when drained, scatter some seed evenly across the surface, approximately 2.5cm (1in) apart, cover with further compost to fill the tray and firm the surface gently.
How to Grow
If growing as shoots, place on a well-lit windowsill but avoid direct sunlight. Maintain moisture levels and harvest with scissors 2.5cm (1in) above compost level when the young plants are 13cm (5in) high. It may be possible to take a further harvest some 3-4 weeks later from the re-growth of the plants.
More Info
If growing to full maturity, support pea plants with twiggy sticks, wire or netting as they grow, and use fine netting to protect pea crops from birds and pea moth damage. When growing peas, regular and thorough watering especially when in flower will improve crop yields. Harvest peas around 14 weeks after sowing when the pods have swollen. Regular picking will encourage further cropping.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
