An exceptionally long flowering period plus handsome evergreen leaves makes Nerium oleander 'Red' a rewarding shrub for a large patio pot. From July to October, it bears 5-petalled, tropical-looking, cerise-red flowers that are borne in clusters at the ends of branches. Forming a tall, bushy shrub with lance-shaped, leathery, grey-green foliage it also provides evergreen structure throughout the year. This half-hardy shrub is best grown in a patio container, where it can be easily moved into a sheltered position over winter. It can also be grown in the open ground in sheltered city gardens, coastal areas and mild parts of the UK. This vigorous, fast-growing shrub brings a Mediterranean vibe to the garden. Despite its showy looks it is a resilient performer in a sheltered spot, tolerating drought, salt spray and pollution. Height and spread: 3m (10ft).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
