Description

An icy palette of arctic white with powder blue shadows topped with lime green tips. These little grape hyacinths perfectly capture the freshness of spring. Showcase the simple beauty of Muscari ‘Alaska’ on its own in a container where the long-lasting blooms will often deliver a peak display for a full month. Alternatively, pair it with classic blue varieties for an effective contrast.  Muscari are easy to grow - simply plant them in autumn and forget about them! They colonise well too, creating natural drifts over time to create a spring carpet beneath trees and shrubs. Height and spread: 20cm (8in).

How to Grow
For the best effect, plant muscari bulbs in large groups. Grape hyacinth plants prefer a sunny or semi-shaded position in moist, well drained, fertile soil that is rich in organic matter. Add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting to improve less than ideal soils. Plant bulbs at a depth of 10cm (4") and a distance of 5cm (2") apart.
More Info
Allow the foliage of Muscari plants to die back naturally as this will help to feed the bulbs for the following year. Overcrowded clumps can be lifted and divided in summer while the bulbs are dormant.
