This low maintenance perennial ornamental grass is perfect for extending the season of interest in your garden right through autumn. Miscanthus ‘Purpurascens’ grows quickly between spring and summer, forming an attractive clump of mauve-tinged grassy foliage with tall upright stems which provide a good screen. By late summer, plumes of feathery pale pink flowers burst from the top of each stem, before going on to develop fantastic coppery hues through autumn and into winter. Tolerant to coastal and exposed sites, this sturdy and resilient grass is happy to grow in most locations, whether at the back of a mixed border or as part of a gravel garden planting scheme. The flowers also make a striking addition to indoor bouquets. Height: 1.5m (5’). Spread: 1m (3’).
