Description

Hedera algeriensis ‘Gloire de Marengo’ features large, lobed leaves splashed dark green and grey with creamy white margins. This fast-growing, self-clinging, evergreen climber is brilliant for adding light and evergreen interest to dingy areas where little else will grow. Use it to cover an ugly fence, create privacy, colonise a dry, weedy bank or as ground cover in the  rooty ground beneath trees. Low maintenance and disease-free, it requires no care other than clipping occasionally to keep it in bounds.  Small yellow-green flowers appear in summer that are highly attractive to beneficial insects and it provides a good habitat for birds, making this a great plant for wildlife. The flowers are followed by shiny black fruit in autumn. RHS Award of Garden Merit. Height and spread: 2.5-4m (8.2-13ft).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Ivy in any moist, well drained garden soil in a sheltered position, in full sun or partial shade. Ivy will perform especially well on alkaline soils, although plants are also tolerant of a wide range of different soil conditions.
More Info
Prune your Ivy plants to fit the space available. Plants can be trimmed at any time, although spring is the best time for renovation pruning, before the new growth starts. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
