How to Grow
Crown Imperial bulbs are particularly fragile and should be handled carefully. Plant them in autumn in a fertile, free draining soil in full sun. The bulbs are particularly susceptible to rotting in wet soils so add plenty of grit and a little well rotted manure or compost prior to planting. Plant Fritillaria imperialis bulbs at a depth of 12cm (5") and 20cm (10") apart. Water well to settle the soil.
More Info
After flowering allow the foliage to die back naturally. When leaves and stems have yellowed, cut them back to ground level.
