Flower Garden 'Perfect for Pollinators' - Seed Scatter Pack
was £9.29Just£8.99
An extra special foxglove with distinctive looks. The thimble-like flowers of Foxglove ‘Summer King’ are an exquisite crushed-strawberry colour with soft veining and speckling. The flowers have a slightly different form to common foxgloves and are densely packed on shorter, chunkier spires so they are more suitable for the front of borders. As with all foxgloves, the sight and sound of bees visiting the blooms is one of the great pleasures of the early summer garden. A wonderful plant for cottage gardens, wildlife havens and woodland-type borders. Height: 75cm (30in). Spread: 45cm (18in).

Transplant 45-60cm (24in) apart into flowering site in the autumn for flowering the following year.
Alternatively, sow the tiny seeds sparingly into seed trays using a fine seed compost. Do not cover the seed. Keep trays in a moist environment such as a plastic bag or propagator and do not allow them to dry out. When seedlings are large enough to handle, prick them out into 9cm pots and grow on. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 45-60cm (18-24in) apart. An early sowing will occasionally produce flowers in the same year.
Water foxglove plants regularly until fully established. Foxgloves will grow in most soils although they prefer acidic soils in part shade. These biennials will produce a low leaf rosette in their first year and flower the following summer. Sowing them two years in succession and allowing plants to self-seed will ensure a continuous display.
