How to Grow
Position Ficus elastica in a warm room away from cold draughts and radiators, with a constant temperature of between 16C (60F) and 24C (75F). Avoid positions which receive sudden drops in temperature as this may cause the plant to drops its leaves. Rubber Plants thrive in a brightly lit spot, avoiding the direct glare of the sun - however they can cope remarkably well in a more shaded position.
More Info
Water regularly between spring and autumn, allowing the pot to drain well after each watering. In winter, reduce watering but do not allow the compost to dry out completely. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth. Any necessary pruning should be undertaken between in autumn or winter. Avoid moving Rubber Plants too often to prevent leaf drop.
