This drought tolerant, prairie perennial makes a fabulous candidate for a hot, late summer border alongside knifophias and crocosmias, injecting colour right through to autumn. A basal clump of long, narrow leaves gives rise to straight, sturdy stalks with terminal flowers. The flowers have a prominent, chocolate-brown boss surrounded by long, drooping ray florets in golden yellow. After flowering, the dried flower cones continue to provide interest. Height: 1m (40”). Spread: 50cm (20").
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
