Description

Create your own miniature orchard with our Dwarf Patio Fruit Tree Collection. We've brought together four of our smallest varieties of Apple, Pear and Cherry in one collection.

  • Collection comprises:
  • Apple 'Gala' - Pollination Group 4 - A reliable cultivar producing attractive, red flushed fruits with a surprisingly sweet flavour when eaten straight from the tree, and make a delicious juicing apple. Rootstock M27
  • Cherry 'Sylvia' - Self-Fertile - This dwarf cherry tree is perfect for the patio where it makes a great focal point in spring as pale pink cherry blossom cloaks the branches. Rootstock: Gisella 6
  • Apple ‘Golden Delicious’ - Partially self-fertile - Pollination Group 4 - a good variety for the warmer parts of the UK, which can be used both as a dessert and cooking apple. This easy-to-grow variety produces reliably heavy crops of yellow-skinned apples. Rootstock: P22
  • Pear 'Conference' - Self-Fertile - Pollination Group 3 - The best known of all pears, ‘Conference’ is excellent eaten as a dessert pear but also exceptional when cooked. The long bell shaped fruits with firm flesh can be eaten hard or fully ripe with a smooth juicy flavour. Rootstock: Quince A

How to Grow
Plant patio fruit trees in 60cm (2’) diameter containers using a good quality compost such as John innes No.3. Alternatively plant them in any well drained soil in a sheltered sunny position. Plant fruit trees at their original soil level, firm them into the ground and water well.
More Info
Feed and water containerised plants regularly. For pruning advice, please see individual product pages. Most fruits trees should be pruned during the winter months when the plants are dormant. However, care should be taken when pruning cherry trees to avoid winter pruning as this leaves cherry trees prone to silver leaf disease.
