Description

Dryopteris lepidopoda is a fern with a surprise! It  provides not just greenery, but a gorgeous range of sunset tones to light up shady borders.

This hardy fern is semi-evergreen, so it is excellent for all-season weed-supressing ground cover, colour and interest. In spring, the young fronds emerge in shades of pink, orange and yellow, before maturing to dark, glossy green. New, colourful fronds continue to emerge in succession through the season, extending the display throughout most of the summer. Weave groups of Dryopteris lepidopoda through low maintenance, woodland-type borders where its sunset fronds create an eye-catching contrast in colour and texture with other foliage perennials.

Dryopteris lepidopoda enjoys a well-drained site and is drought tolerant once established. Height: 75cm (30in). Spread: 60cm (24in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

More Info
