Description

We're bringing strong scent to the autumn garden with this vibrant mix of Sweet Williams. Dianthus 'Festival Mixed' brings together a selection of traditional solid shades and bicolour blooms to catch the eye, all picked for their sweet clove-like fragrance that will fill your patio with perfume this autumn.

Winter hardy and tolerant of summer extremes, this hardy mix comes into its own during the cooler autumn weather, picking up the baton just when your summer performers are starting to lag behind. Even the first frosts won't stop this top-performing mix, so expect colour and scent well into winter. A must have for extending the season of colour in your garden. Height and spread: 25cm (10").

Culinary note: Use the clove like tasting petals for adding to cakes, either for flavour or decorating, suitable for soups, salads and sauces too. For more details about edible flowers click here.

How to Grow
Pot up Sweet William plug plants and grow them on in frost free conditions for transplanting into borders and containers later on. When all risk of frost has passed, and plugs are fully rooted into their pots, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant Sweet Williams in beds and borders in fertile, well drained soil in full sun.
More Info

Feed and water Sweet William plants regularly until they are fully established. Deadhead faded Sweet William flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced throughout the summer.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
