Description

Delphinium ‘Red Lark’ is a strikingly unusual flower colour bearing bright, salmon-red, semi-double flowers above mounds of finely cut foliage. This free-flowering variety has stronger stems and a compact growth habit which makes it an easier Delphinium to manage than taller varieties. Height: 70cm (27”). Width: 37cm (15”).

How to Grow
Pot up plants into larger containers. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 7-10 days and plant out once all risk of frost has passed. When growing Delphiniums, choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds, on moist, well drained soil. Protect young delphinium plants from slugs and snails.
More Info
Feed and water delphinium plants until they are fully established. The tall stems of delphinium flowers will require staking with stout canes. Canes should be put in place by mid spring to ensure that the plants are adequately supported throughout the growing season. Cut spikes of faded delphinium flowers back to a flowering side-shoot to encourage a second flush of blooms to be produced. In autumn, cut the old foliage back to ground level. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
