Named after the ‘lily maid of Astolat’ who, according to Arthurian legend, died of unrequited love, you are sure to fall head over heels for the dreamy pink spires of this romantic delphinium. A Pacific Giant hybrid, this is a tall variety - adding height and drama to borders. The large, semi-double, soft pink flowers are studded with a dark bee and are excellent for pollinating insects. Height up to 1.75cm (70”). Spread: 60cm (24”).

How to Grow

Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds, on moist, well drained soil. Protect young delphiniums from slugs and snails.

Feed and water delphinium plants until they are fully established. The tall stems of delphinium flowers will require staking with stout canes. Canes should be put in place by mid spring to ensure that the plants are adequately supported throughout the growing season. Cut spikes of faded delphinium flowers back to a flowering side-shoot to encourage a second flush of blooms to be produced. In autumn, cut the old foliage back to ground level. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
