Description

Five stunning decorative dahlias in an array of bi-colours create a patchwork quilt of eye-catching patterns.

Dahlia 'Perfect Patchwork Collection' make amazing cut flowers, with long, strong stems and an impressive vase life. They perform equally well in the garden, striking a pose at the back of borders in a symphony of colour that lasts until the first frosts.

Each of our dahlia collections is a work of art, comprising a harmonious selection of colours and tones which is guaranteed to produce magnificent results for garden borders and indoor arrangements. Height: 120cm (48in). Spread: 60cm (24in).

Dahlia 'Perfect Patchwork Collection' comprises the following 5 varieties:

  • Dahlia ‘Patches’ - A random mix of white and fuchsia pink. No two flowers are the same. The 20cm blooms sport pink petals tipped with varying amounts of white, including some more solid colours.
  • Dahlia ‘Davos’ – Deep red with white tips.
  • Dahlia ‘Orange Perfection’ – Tangerine orange streaked with red.
  • Dahlia ‘Smokey’ – Blooms flecked and striped with vivid purplish-pink markings against a white background.
  • Dahlia ‘Seattle’ – Golden yellow hearts with white tips.

5 Tubers (1 of each variety) (KF5853)

How to Grow
Plant Dahlia tubers outdoors in April after all risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny position in moist well drained soil. Prepare the soil by digging in plenty of well rotted manure or compost. Plant tubers at a depth of 15cm (6") and water well. Alternatively, start tubers into growth in pots of compost in a frost free greenhouse. Transplant them into their final positions outdoors in June.
More Info
Feed and water dahlias regularly throughout the growing season. While plants are still young, pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage bushier growth and masses of flowers. As dahlias develop, the taller varieties will require staking with garden canes to support their stems. Deadhead faded dahlia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. With the first autumn frosts, remove tubers from their growing positions and trim away the old stems to 5cm above the tuber. Clean any remaining soil from the tubers and store them over winter in trays of peat or sand, in a cool but frost free position. The tubers can be planted the following spring for another fabulous display.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
