Description
Cytisus ‘Lena’ is a colourful shrub in early summer, when its pea-like flowers are a blaze of orange, red and gold. Awarded an RHS AGM for its garden performance, this reliable Broom has an upright, somewhat arching habit, which can be pruned as a low hedge. This drought resistant shrub enjoys a sunny position and copes well in challenging coastal locations, thriving on open, free draining sites. Height and spread: 150cm (59").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Plant Broom into garden borders in fertile, well drained garden soil, in full sun. Cytisus is a very useful shrub, which can also tolerate poor soils, or planting onto sloping ground.
More Info
Broom should be trimmed back during May, after plants have flowered. You can also rejuvenate Broom plants over a 3 year period by pruning out a third of the branches each year, again after flowering.
